Hey Qawls,
I'm in Kensington, used to be in Bentleigh. Saw in the other thread you're looking for a 360 axle. I may have what you're looking for. I have a pair of wheels that I think came off a cb360 or a later model 350 then what I have. I don't need them, just the tyre on one.
You're joking! I would definitely be interested in taking it off your hands! Oh Bentleigh cool as I'm in Hampton at the moment so I guess I'm around a half hour from you. God I love DTT for just this reason.
Cheers mate.
yep. next time i'm doing bike stuff i'll grab a picture of them. i've also got a few ice cream containers of engine parts (cams, rockers, engine covers) that may be off a cb360, definitely not from a 350 and therefore no use to me, but little point in throwing them out because someone will be able to use them one day.
Awesome well I might see you round then I won't be needing it for awhile as I'm getting the ends of the forks powdercoated but when I do I'll hit you up I'm sure if you've got the time I'll have a lot of questions, this is my first build. If you've worked on this type of Honda before I'm sure you'll have a great deal of knowledge. Thanks again.
this cb350 is back on the front burner of my efforts.
new spokes, NOS headlight ears and valves from david silver spares
the head and cylinders is at headworks getting rebored for wiseco 66mm pistons and the new valves.
i have found two alloy 18 inch rims from 80's drum brake rear dirt bikes that should have the right spoke angles to work with the drum hubs. i will cut apart the old wheels, give the hubs a quick polish and hope i can put them back together again with minimal failure.
the swingarm has been rebuilt with bronze bushings, and i have a pamco ignition and a new reg/rec ready to go in.
i will get it all together before sorting out the paint again, the NOS candy sparkle red on the headlight ear is amazing and i want something lik that on the tank, maybe light glitter blue like 90's cannondale track bikes.
haven't updated for a while. what can i say- persistent but slow. in the meantime i've been doing a bit of this:
this is about where the xs250 is up to:
replaced broken piston rings which are almost entirely unobtainable, rewired the indicators to remove the auto cancel and installed an XS400 pamco ignition. needs a new fuel tap and master cylinder from mikes xs along with the spring for the clutch bearing and a couple of other bits. the seat is hammered aluminium made with a brick and mallet and rivet gun,and fits perfectly. learnt to weld and welded the mufflers on, riveted up a battery box and installed chrome fenders front and rear, lots of sitting an staring to get this one worked out to this stage.
the cb350 has had a stack of money thrown at it, and has wiseco 66mm pistons, new valves, a refinished fat cam/rockers and pamco ignition. planning to keep the stock carbs. it's all in pieces at the moment, the wheels are being rebuilt with new spokes and secondhand dirtbike alloys.
