So it's been a while since I have been able to ride my bike due to some injuries and then about a month ago I got laid off at work. But I finally am better and have been working on the bike for a while. A little back ground on the bike. It is a 73 CB350G. I completely rebuilt the carbs and put a 115 jet in cause the 105 was running a little lean and the 125 was a little to rich. It's got a 2 into 1 cl style exhaust with a reverse cone muffler. I'm also running pods. My problem is after it warms up it will sputter and the left cylinder will run intermittently. I've gone over the timing multiple times and it all looks good but I'm not 100% sure. I've also completely gone through the fuel system and it flows freely. I think its a problem with the timing cause it was running worse before and once I redid the timing the first time it made the problem better. It will run decent for a little bit then starts to sputter and run on one cylinder. I'm also running Bosh Blue coils and put brand new plugs in too. Any one have any ideas?
I've also been searching for about a week now and haven't found anything.
Assuming you have a manual? It goes over the timing better in there than how I could explain it. But after setting the static timing per the manual, get a timing light on there.
Yep I have a Clymers. I did both the static and with a timing light and it looks like I have it right. It seems like it happens more when its under load but when I check it when I limp it back to the house the timing is off. I've checked all the bolts and everything is tight too.
As far as I know it's original. Put it this way I've never changed it. I know the CB350's make a lot of noise up top and it's been a while since I rode it for a good distance so I really don't remember how loud it was. Is there an easy way of checking it without ripping the whole motor apart?
