Been Around the Block
Hello everyone. Another lurker stepping out to say hi. I'm Chris...
About me: I am "that guy". I am a novice to many things mechanical particularly the kind that take gas. But I have my first bike, and I am going to make a go at a cafe. Cafe racers (the bikes as well as the scene) have never quite hit my radar until the past year or two. Since then, I cant seem to get 'em outta my head. I am an artist (the starving kind) living outside Chicago... Joliet/Plainfield area. I'm married with an 11yo girl, a 6yo girl and a 3yo boy. Enough of that stuff...

I recently acquired a 1970 CB350 K2. She'll need some tender loving care. Would like to get her up and running, ride some... then tear her down and get busy. I have learned so much in the past couple weeks just reading through these forums. I am sure I will need help. But the beauty of DTT is that the help has already been given nine out of ten times, to some other lost soul who reached out. So it is mostly here, and I will do my due diligence to use the 'search' function before I ask. When I get started I'll post a proper build thread. Until then... hello!

Welcome to DTT! MAke sure you swing by the members art section. We love seeing (stealing ideas from ;) ) what you creative folks are up to.

As far as the bike, you picked a good one to start with. The CB350 is about as user friendly as you can get. Lots of aftermarket, cheap parts, and folks here who know them inside and out.

Looking forward to seeing what you do to her!

Welcome, I am newer here also, I have learned so much just by reading through the build threads...Dig in!

I finally got her running (at the end of summer, sigh)... It's tough being clueless LOL... Build coming soon... That is all.

I like the 350s stock, but like them better cafed. That looks like an awesome tank to start with. Good luck
