my buddy got a sweet xs650 and is looking to get some more power out of it. anybody have any experience with the (apparently) direct swap mikesxs 650>750 kit?

the bike came with some vm34 round slide carbs and K&N pods already mounted so its looking like an overbore and exhaust are all it "needs". the stock headers are going to get some dunstall megaphones until next summer when it will probably get the mikesxs 2>1 headers

i say go for it... its a pretty good deal also... bore and pistons alone run me more then half that on my 350! and i dont even get pretty long cooling fins... =/

I looked around on the boards and its pretty scattered... it seems there was a different 750 kit before that wasn't so great but this one is.

Its not clear how necessary it is to do more porting work, but something interesting is that the kit has more meat on it which means you can overbore that and go apeshit with the hotrodding.

Sooner or later somethings gonna happen thats going to force an engine tear down, ill throw the kit on then and see whats up.
