I haven't seem too many of these. Nice chain driven gs but I know nothing about them.

Holey shit, is this a "tongue in cheek" post?
Those bikes are very sought after. Engine is damn near bullet proof and the basis of many dragbikes ... still today.
Search around on e-bay the 83 GS1100E goes for double that IF you can find one and the engine alone can fetch what he is asking.

But then I am a little bias and I don't have the cash... so realy I am dreaming and spending your money. ;)

THey are very nice bikes when well sorted. A bit of a cross between a muscle bike and a sport tourer. Lots of go, and they handle pretty well for such a heavy bike. The square headlight didn't help their looks much, and the later years used a rare 11" round headlight. They wear bikini fairings well, much like KZ1000R.

You could certainly do worse for yourself...

It was tongue in cheek only to the extent that I knew little enough to be unsure on the price. I have seen gs1000's go for a pretty penny and therefore was somewhat surprised at what he was asking for this one, especially considering a guy could probably whittle him down a bit. I'd have to sell a couple things in order to buy it unfortunately.

Being a non-runner it is a pig in a poke... but from his description I'd take a gas can and a fresh battery and see what happened... or, if your feekling lucky, use it to your advantage and low ball him because it's a non-runner.
Bet it's gone by now... :-\

Still there ........ Seeing as it is Alberta, I would think and hope the drained fuel/removed battery is due to an owner actually taking care of the bike for winter storage and not a poor attempt at selling a non-running bike.

The 'E' designation is especially nice. They also came in several other trims which weren't as nice (in my opinion).

Reasonable price for a great bike. Not sure why he re-sprayed it, but it looks OK. Buddy of mine has one and they are fast and smooth.
