Hi all - was having a wonder and thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone was also into older cars? Be interested to see if the interest goes both ways.
Cheers - boingk
EDIT: Pics attached - its a 1980 Chrysler Valiant. Love it to death. The pic in the bush is with new paint in original colour plus the dents and so on taken out.
aye, i have a mint 1979 trans am and a 1975 land rover series 3, the trans am looks damn close to the one in smokey and the bandit and the series 3 rover is an ex belgium military rover
i have never owned a new car
the series 3, it looks better now, it is actually green and the bumpers are black and it has a hard top, yes my neighbors love me ;D :
I am, I dont currently have one on the road though. I sold the last one to fund another. I seem to spend more time building for others than on for myself.
I'm definately "into" vintage cars, but they're way too expensive for me right now.
Me and dad restored a couple of 70's corvettes (a 75 sting ray and a 78 pace car). We hope to get a truck to hot rod / restore before I graduate... My own dream car is an SS el-camino.
So... you guys want your own area to yak about your cars? I can set up another board for that. I'd love to have a bigger project like an old truck, but space constraints keep me in bikes.
Those guys are part of Concepts on Wheels, which is where I had the machine work done on my CB550 cylinders and head (twice). Good guys and a great shop.
It was far from beautiful, but it sure got a lot of attention. My brother and I drove it from South Dakota to Alabama over Labor Day wknd a few years ago...cruised at 70mph with the 235 straight six and three-speed...thanks to the rear end with hiway gears...got a ton of thumbs-ups and wide grins on that trip.
I bought it at the age of 14 in boxes with the money I earned delivering newspapers for three years. Progress has been slow, and I'm having a bunch of issues getting the rebuilt engine running, but it'll be a sweet ride one day.

It lives at my parent's house, with my Dad's cars:
And does 1986 count as vintage? Here's my daily driver:
Was all ready for paint and it got lightly hit in the front while at a muffler shop. Not more than a couple weeks later it was rear ended by some ditzy girl while it was parked outside work. I've been waiting for my karma to improve before I start driving it around again.
