Wondering if there is anyone in the area that would want to help me with the tear down and rebuild of my sl350? First bike and first build. Id love to have some help with some of the more complex parts, from a more seasoned motorcycle guy. I'd be willing to pay you for your time in money or beer! Hopefully beer! :-\
Oh, if you need any specialty tools, hit me up. Sucks when you dont know anyone with what you need and if I have something you can use to save a few bucks, let me know
Thanks I apreciate it. I'm pulling out the engine today and I'm working on getting the frame hoop bent and welded on right now. It gets tough when you are the only one working on it. Hope the cb 750 is coming along nice. If I ever get this thing running we should meet up.
and get to cracken!
Seriously though, you're in the IE. The birthplace of bro-dozers and some of the best motorcross riders around so there are probably a lot of places. I would start out at custom rail shops. Those guys who build those 150k sand rails will definately be able to do it, just dont know how much they cost. Also there are a quite a few shops who make the towers for wake boarding for power boats between Temecula and Riverside and those are all made of tubing. You could try hitting them up also. I'm sure if you told the guys whats it for, they would probably be stoked to give it a try
Ahh didn't think of a sand rail or wake board tower shop, good advice. I tried 3 muffler shops, a machine shop and some Harley repair/builder place. Trying not to buy a tool I'm only going to use once, but it wouldn't be the first time!
No haven't gone looking again. I'm going to try a sand rail place here in town first then a wakeboard tower shop in lake elsinore. Worst case just cut it, bend it, weld it. Seat will cover it for the most part.
