Anyone with CR carbs on their CB?

Ya I read abit about the 4-2 Mikuni, that is an option, but will still cost me 6-700 bucks. I will talk to my friend about synching carbs. I know he has had the accelorator pump apart so I dont think that would be the issue, not sure.

ya i think if i buy another cafe, I will hunt for an XS650 and have less carbs to deal with .lol

hmmm- I have the same carbs and similar issues. Problem is, I'm missing the little rubber piece off my accelerator pump that looks like a mini fork boot. It also holds gas in the accelerator pump, so when it fell apart, carbs got leaky. I found a replacement on honda parts direct, but you have to buy the whole damned diaphragm, which is $51 :-\ Oh well, new parts are always good. Here's a link to the parts fiche, it's the part labeled as #9 (the rubber piece is at the top of the bracket).

...and Allah forbid any girls read this shit, not such a stellar first impression...

Girls don't give a shit about most of this; they'd rather you buy a Duc Monster or some bullshit so your hands don't smell like fuel and your nails aren't dirty all the time. They definately don't want you constantly working on your bike all the time. I have yet to meet a girl or woman who cares about whether a guy can fix something on his own anymore. You have to remember, they grew up listening to their Moms bitchin' about their Dads screwing things up worse rather than calling a repairman.

But you didn't ask about women, you asked about carbs. Mine are still screwed by the way. Taking exhaust off, stripping wrap, and checking cracks today. Yea...

Hmmm mine are not leaking fuel at all. Lets keep it going, i am hoping that soon I can have another mechanic take a stab at the bike and maybe we can solve each others issues....long shot, but you never know

I am having endless carb issues and thinking of biting the bullet and buying fresh carbs. There are the CR carbs or the CycleX Mikunis (which are cheaper)

I asked on SOHC 4 forums if anyone had experience with the CycleX carbs and got no replies, so I want to try. If anyone has any sort of tips or suggestions they are all welcome!

The cost of new carbs is high, but i have odds and ends I can sell and will have 2 sets of stock carbs to sell which shold help offset it.

The bike is a 78 cb750

i almost bought a set of CR carbs for my 450 but when Sudco quoted me the price i was like HS! Terry Naughting of Team Hansen Racing told me to give KTR Wheelsports a call. plus Terry had recommended i get some VM34 Mikunis from KTR i bought 2 for about $89 a piece. much cheaper than the $539 CR's from Sudco.

Renegademonk ....if I bought 4 mikuni carbs, how do they bolt up to the whole bank of carbs and the throttle control and that other jazz?? Cant be an easy endeavor...is it???

i have never had to work with more than 2 cylinders so i cant give you accurate changeover instructions...will ask a few folks ...in addition maybe someone on here has done the conversion for 4 cylinders.
