Are you kidding me?

Wow we are all in the money with are builds and didn't even know it !!!!

"Custom one of a kind..."

In what fuckin' universe? I see a big pile of off the shelf parts somewhat poorly fitted to one of the most mass produced bikes of all time. I get that he's proud of his build, and he should be. But, lets be realistic here.

There are at least five bikes from this forum that come to mind instantly that are hands down, 100%, entirely more "one of a kind" and "custom".

Again, no disrespect meant to the builder. He did what he set out to do I'm sure and props to anyone who builds a bike they're proud of. But c'mon. $14k?

I am surprised that people would spend that kind of coin on a pretty basic cafe build - executed reasonably well, certainly, but nothing out of the ordinary - but then, I do not have $14k (or, for that matter, 1.4k!) in the 'fun money' pile. I expect that (a) he's right that being able to display the trophy along with the bike is worth a lot of money to some people, and (b) that at least a few of the other people who bid on the bike were serious bidders.

Hard to knock the guy's expectations when the bidding - before my fake bid - hit twelve grand.

we honestly should all be happy that these bikes are fetching big money. I just quit my day job. I'm rich bitch

It's great until you're looking for parts :)

I think it's important to note the bike didn't sell, and if you look at the bidding history, it was no doubt shill bidding or someone playing a joke on them. 0 feedback eBay member bidding up and up and up along with only one other member with 7 feedback. Unlikely any of the bids were 'real'.

Doesn't cost anything to list a bike with a silly high reserve price and get lots of free advertising.

Dear me, Tim - someone playing a joke on them? Perish the thought. :) Didn't catch the feedback scores on the other 'buyers', though.

Adam's a good guy, he's a trained mechanic and his bikes are done right, I wouldn't bet a nickel against someone being able to take that bike from LA to NY and back without a breakdown. It may not be the flashiest thing in the world, but there's something said for doing things right. The high reserve is probably there because A: he's in LA, not Ontario now, so the market is a lot different, people there are buying custom choppers that are far less rideable for ten times as much at the low end, and B: ebay has a knack for coming up high in web searches, so just having a bike on it is good publicity.

Wow. I should have asked for a hell of a lot more for my cb. Where are these idiots when I sell my stuff...?

The used market in/around Los Angeles is ridiculously overpriced.

Hey easy does it with those "retard" comments...(lmao) refer to them as "shit for brains, with too much money"

Might have to fill up a trailer with $350 cb's and drive down to la-la land.
