So, another member (Griff5268) started a facebook group called Georgia Moto Ryder. We have started using this page for local discussions of group rides, local bike nights and general moto topics. Griff and I have decided to make an attempt at having a monthly meetup. Our first one will be Jan 17th at Paddys Pub in Kennesaw. If you do facebook and are interested check out the group, Griff should be setting up an event pretty soon so you can put it on your calendar. I know it's gonna be frigid so if people show up in cars it's no big deal, as long as you show up.

I know I've seen enough posts from people in Atlanta that the scene is alive. Let's get some faces to associate with those avatars!

Cool, can I ask one thing? I don't facebook and was wondering if you guys would mind maybe throwing the dates and what is going on a google calender? Or maybe ask Tim to give the Atlanta group our own sub forum so we can keep it all here?

I'll be up in y'all's neck sometime soon. Maybe this weekend to pick up a bike. A small town called taccoa I think. Anyone near there? I'll be coming from south Alabama so it'll be quite the ride.

@ lingo: I am not google callender savvy and I would hate to disperse things even more. Perhaps an ATL subforum is the best route. I can shoot Tim a PM and see what he says.

@ Deviant1: I am in Rome which is on the northwest side of the state, I think Taccoa is over on the northeast side. Maybe a couple of hours away.

Indeed, much thanks Tim!

So the details of the meetup are Paddys Irish Pub, 2196 Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw. I put 6:30 as the start time, I think there is some live music starting at 7:00. We will see if Paddys is a good fit for us, we can move the locale around from month to month if need be. Tuesday night is Paddys weeekly bike night, which is apparently sponsored by Full Throttly magazine.

Any questions just post them here or drop me a PM.

I'm pretty sure I'm off that night, and I live right down the street (I think). I'm putting it in my calander. I've met lingo, and have been meening to get back up with him. Would be nice meeting some other people if they are OK with a jack-booted thug (police/pig/copper) coming out to join ya. :)

I actually grew up a few minutes from Toccoa. Real piece of shit town, but all through northeast Georgia there are a ton of barn finds if you can get in the right circles. Fortunately my Grandfather is an old time Ford restorer (mostly 30's to 50's cars and trucks) and he gets a good beat on old bikes from time to time. There are old dudes that just horde the shit out of all kinds of cool stuff. I got my bike up in Clayton, which is the very northeast corner of the state.

I work for Kennesaw State and I pass Paddy's Pub all the time. Sounds cool. The Vortex in little five has a bike night, and Ive been a couple of times, but didn't really like the vibe there.

Additionally, you guys could check out Dirty Bird Customs in Decatur. They are building some cool stuff over there it looks like.

Thanks,
Andrew

I have seen several of Dirty Bird's bikes on craigslist. Looks like some neat stuff. If you come up with any of these barn full of old bikes be sure to throw up a post. I'm so broke these days that I can't even pay attention but that don't mean I can't look. Come on out to Paddys on the 17th, the more the merrier!

Weather is showing around 50° and rain as of right now, hopefully it will clear out. Would love to come over and meet everyone, but can't make it over to that neck of the woods twice in one week. Heading over Thursday to the RAT meeting.

I've been trying to make it to one of the RAT meetings but weather and my 'broke ass college student' status has been preventing it.

Is it at FPS?

Yes 7pm at Freedom third Thursday of each month. From time to time Harrison throws out some KILLER deals on Triumph stuff. He gave everyone a big discount over Christmas, and had lists of Triumph stuff that Triumph America was blowing out. Last year he ran a sale anything Triumph 10% over cost. The usually have soda and what not as well.
