Aug 20, 21, 22 - Vintage Japanese Meet and Show

Held at the White Rose Motorcycle Club, 5252 Hillclimb Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362. Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Vending from 7 a.m. till ?. Sunday show - 11 a.m. Admission - $5. Vending or Camping -$40 for the weekend.

This event is one of the highlights for Vintage Japanese collectors and enthusiasts in the Mid-Atlantic area. In recent years the meet has drawn vendors and collectors from all over the world. The hospitality and great location in south central Pennsylvania is second to none. On the grounds is a wonderful clubhouse with a restaurant and clean rest rooms with showers for all the campers. The atmosphere is beaming with swaps and trades and guys and gals finding that one part to finish their restoration! Friday and Saturday are full of vending and bench racing and good times with old friends you only see once a year. Sunday there is a concourse Bike Show with trophies given in many categories! Don't miss the chance to come to one of the most beautiful areas in Pennsylvania and to one of the oldest Vintage Japanese meets in the country! We've also been told it's the largest Japanese only motorcycle show in the east.

Check out www.vjmc.org for pictures and information from the previous years. Hotel information is on our website.Indianrobn@aol.com - 717-938-2556 - 717-938-4753 During the meet please use - 717-571-5667 www.whiterosemc.org

I wish they would organize some kind of morning ride in conjunction with this show -- the event is held near some really great two-lane roads, and it's a shame they don't take advantage of it.

The problem is that if you are looking for parts, its hard to ride the bike.

How about Sunday Vince? I'd be up for some twisties on Sunday.

Afraid not this year -- I've been to the event 5 times, and the Sunday show (at least for those people who enter their bike in the show) is a real exercise in patience. You show up at 9:30am, enter your bike, then you're stuck there until 3:30 in the afternoon. People are packing up their swap meet sites, and there's really not much else to do there. The Saturday swap meet is okay, but you can walk through it in about an hour. I actually tried to make a weekend out of it one year, and it wasn't quite what I was hoping it would be (definitely not like VMD at Mid-Ohio). Bench racing's not my thing, but that's just me.

While there are certainly interesting bikes to see in the Sunday show (there's usually about 70 bikes or so), I've done it too many times, so I'm putting it aside for a few years. I will, however, see you at the Mods'n'Rockers event next weekend! Hopefully it won't pour rain.....

I went on Saturday, I left Philly Folk Fest and drove out in the car to spend some time with my wife. I like the events at White Rose MC, but it's a tedious ride through 35mph zones and Lancaster County tourists. I saw a lot of small bore stuff there, z50's, ct70's. Not too many real cool bikes on display Sat., and I would assume the snotty weather put a damper on the show bikes Sun. I picked up a seat cover for my Dr-z and some vintage ads framed for real cheap. Coolest thing I saw was a Japan market Yamaha 2 stroke v-twin. I didn't even get my hand made fish sandwich cause the line was too long.
I made back to Folk Fest to see Taj Mahal play at the main stage at night.
