Took the Mini to an autocross last weekend and it was more fun than I thought I could have on 4 wheels. I finished 4th out of 15 in the novice class. I was pretty happy since it was my first time out, and I out ran my buddy's 280Z so I had bragging rights at work too
Good job...those are great cars for autox. I used to run a CSP Miata, and before that I ran my Sunbeam Alpine. No room for a fun car anymore, so I take my wife's (automatic) G35 out to an event or two each year and get waxed by the fast guys.
