1980 R-100 sad, neglected, overweight and misunderstood. Rapid weight reduction! Luftmeister "barn door" removed, Krauser bags and mounts removed. Stripped and repainted, minor internal mods. Some 70's bits introduced to the old girl.. Some early BMW hot rod parts and a two into one non baffled exhaust lets her realise the breeding which went into her birth. Some other mods include the seat/reserve gas tank.Styling clues taken from Ernst Jacob Henne (1904-02-02) (2005-05-23) and Gus Kuhn's Bol D' Or endurance racer 1975. In the case of my machine it is now a "trunk".

Man that's sweet. Looks totally comfortable too.

I've got a stock 1975 R75/6. I think I'll have to 'personalize' it a bit. Seeing too many cool airheads around. It's my touring bike so it needs to be comfortable, but no reason it can't look cool too.

Lets see some more! And welcome to the site!

Thanks for the kind comments!! Although I wanted this particular look, "and I really don't care what others think", I really appreciate your comments!!It's good to know not everyone is a purist and you must leave the machine in it's "original form" Among the purists this machine is known as " ANATHEMA"!  ;D ;D Must be the pipes???

yeah those purest guys are very picky. I looked into a Bemmer club here in az and they did not accept "cafe airheads". their loss

Dude. Nice. You ever think about rearsets? Honestly I've been back and fourth about it. I like the look, but overall I'm very pleased with the riding positing I have now. Which of course the answer is "do what feels right for you". I guess I just want to hear someone else's thoughts on their own experiences.

I'd like to have a set of rearsets ;D , and I will,BUT... This machine is on a bit of a budget.. I never would have expected the costs on some of the items to be as high as they were. :p ...Oh well, I better get out with the old metal detector and scrounge up some more change!!!

Dude. Yeah. The cost is redic on these things. I like the look of the Tarozzi's. Should I finally go the rearset route that's probably going to be what I grab.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!! u are an artist. did u make your your rear hump into a reserve fuel holder?

:) Thanks for the kind comments and interest! I'll post some detail photo's of the reserve fuel tank/seat tomorrow.. :)

very clever 8) . now when those pesky gas bandits try to suck the "gas" out of that tank all there going to get is AIR. also a good place to hide a a decent size bottle without worrying about the 5-0.

That's a nice little storage area. It reminds me a little of a 64-ish Corvette. I love the style and the boxers are a nice looking engine.

Yeah, the style is a little like the fuel tank of a sprint car or early Indy Roadster. Now, if I could find someone locally to do a little gold leaf lettering, I'd love to have the #59 in script on the sides of it. If no one's local, I'll just have to try it myself.
