I haven't seen a thread yet about travel and support (from members who can't go). It might help to have a list of who is making the trip, where they are traveling from, days they are traveling and for the members who can't go, where they are and any support they may be able to priovide.
support example, I am in Connecticut, I can provide parts(honda), gas, camping, food, shower.
traveling, I am leaving Connecticut on Weds 10/5 traveling on RTE??? arriving in Alabama 10/7. Departing for home 10/9 evening, have space for parts, camping gear, passengers. My cell phone is 860-608-27two5.
If this can help, lets keep it going.

Very cool idea! I will be traveling down from Asheville nc on 10/7 very early in the morning, and returning on 10/9 sometime in the evening. May have room for parts but that remains up in the air right now. Hauling 1 bike, and bike ramps.

There are 2 of us heading down from Indy. Plan to leave on Thurs (10/6) mid-afternoon and drive straight thru to Bama. Travelling south down I-65. We will have a bike trailer with 2 bikes and extra space (hopefully bringing a bike back) and plan to head back up on Monday (10/10).

my cell is three one seven - seven one four - seven five six eight

Cant go due to wifes illness, but I am in Chattanooga,Tennessee right off I-75.Have a truck with a bike trailer so if anyone is coming thru to get on I-59 to Bham and needs help ,food, abeer or a place to crash--please call me.423-296-0599.bj

i'm in pittsburgh, and can provide mechanical help, maybe parts, and possibly lodging. i know maritime (mike) is arriving the 5th and we're mounting tires on his wing and then we are heading for bama.

cb550cafe, maybe you and mike can meet up and do some riding together, he's travelling thru your general area.

there is a decent group from pgh heading down.

if anyone wants my cell, pm me.

Kemp and I are leaving Toronto early morning on the 5th. If we take the recommended Google route we'd likely stop in Louisville or Bowling Green for the night (11-12 hours driving + stops) and then finish up on the 6th with another 4-5 hours driving, making it in time for me to set up at the show Thursday.

Would be good if those of us doing the drive on Thursday into the area could get organized a bit and start off in the same spot.

Re: Barber travel/support

This thread is a great idea. What about taking it a step further and making a Barber SOS thread incase anyone gets into some trouble so they can post their location and problem? Just an idea.

I'm not going, but I can offer some support, though I doubt anyone is taking the long way down the jersey shore instead of I-95. But ill be in toms river if anybody needs a hand or a beer. PM's get emailed to my phone.

Re: Barber travel/support

This is cool. I just canceled my home phone and got a cell for the trip.

Like beatnic said, I am hoping to leave at noon the 4th, get to Portland and meet Diesel450 and crash there, then head out Early thte 5th to be in Pittsburgh with enough time to put a new set of tires on the GL for the rest of the trip. I will then be riding with him and anyone else who wants to leave when we do. Like I said above, my wife and I canceled our land line and got me a cell, she has one and we are on the same plan now and can talk unlimited. She wanted me to have a way to get in touch with help if I needed it. My sister lives in Memphis so I am going to go visit her after barber, she is sending me the $$ for the extra gas so that is cool. I have the time booked already. I will be chatting withe everyone soon to firm up plans. Beatnic, I hope you got my PM about the tire size for the front.

Cheers,

Maritime

Beatnic and I discussed getting about that far south on the 5th, maybe we can stop in the same place and ride out together on the 6th?

As far as I know, Rich is heading to my place (in Frederick, MD) Wednesday afternoon, and we are rolling out real early Thursday morning and driving straight through.

Re: Barber travel/support

I am about 25 minutes away from Barbers. Most of the camping will be at Kiley's, my place can be an overflow camping spot or a place to grab a shower regardless of where you are camping/staying.

Im i frostburg md mins from I-68 im not going but i am willing to lend a hand if any one breaks down or needs a few hours off the road 240-920-2430

I live right at I75 and I285 north of Atlanta. If anyone has any problems in the area give me a call. (770) 900-4746. I will be leaving for Barber Friday after work and I will have a truck and maybe a trailer if you need a tow.

Curses, Tim is going right by my house on his way. I've just requested the time off. If I can scrape the cash up, I'll see about hooking up with Tim in Detroit and riding down. Got my truck back on the road but the car died (Subframe and rack) so I'll need to inspect the financials and see if I can do something to get the cash.

Fix, if i sell my 450 before I leave, I can filter some of the donations I have been getting your way to help. I got another email today from someone who wants to look at it. Fingers crossed it sells.

Appreciate the offer man, but hopefully I can pull some extra work and it wouldn't be necessary.

Going to put this in here as it seems to be the logical place. Route to Barber for Maritime;

Day one, Tuesday October 4th starting at noonish, depending on if all is packed and ready.

About 380 miles or 635 km Moncton to Portland and Diesel450 place:
DayOne.jpg

Day 2, Wednesday October 5th get up early head for Beatnics place Portland to Pittsburgh 650 miles or 1040 KM:

daytwo.jpg

Day 2 may continue into the evening if we get the tires mounted and have the energy

Day 3 October 6th, I am leaving up to Beatnic as he road it last year ;D Distance will depend on if we extend day 2.
