Beachcomber's BMW Cafe Racer

Had a really good week - I finally got the rear wheel I was after for my 60's style BMW K100 Cafe Racer.

It now matches the front - from an R1150GS Beemer. Just got to sort out the front spindle - rear's a straight swap.

I've got all the rest of the period correct stuff - I even had a collector and Goldie Siencer specially made in Stainless steel.
I'll probably use the Tarrozi clip-ons and rear sets - I'm sure I can fnd a use for the other stuff !

The Duke 750SS set has got to be widened by 2", but other than that it's all fairly straghtforward.

The tank is the biggest problem - for now I'll have it stripped and polished [ alloy ], I've ordered an AJS 7R stye tank in alloy, but the guy will take about 9 months to deliver!

Just started collecting bits for a Suzuki GS450 Cafe Racer....................................

Hey BC..... where can I get one of those collector/muffler set ups ? I just finished a SV650S project and am ready to start on my K100 Kafe. All I really need is the collector, if it can be purchased separately. Going to polish the tank and have the tail section (Ducati 998) painted to resemble an airplane with panels and rivets..... carbon two bros exhaust can.... clip-ons....... carbon headlight...... black wheels with carbon trim..... and a few more little odds and ends. I might even put this one in the build section. Thanks man......

Wow, sorry for the delay in responding ................... this project has morphed into my Streetfighter and the Cafe Racer gauntlet has been taken up by my TR1 "Vindicator".

Purely by coincidence, the guy who made the collectors has recently contacted me to say that he has 3 sets of component parts ready to be assembled. If you're still interested let me know and I'll see what the current status is. I had 3 made back then, one on my Fighter and 2 went on to BEARS series race bikes.

Here's Ben Kingham on his BEARS race winning K100 [ fitted with the collector.]

How much...... and remember, I am a po' boy :-[ :-[ :-[.

I'm waiting for the current price - although at the time in batches of 3, I remember the price was quite reasonable. I only put 10% on for handling and etc. so it will be virtually a trade price.

I'll let you have the price as soon as.

Here's the latest incarnation of the Kay. Actually I've just finished [ almost ] the K1200S wheel swap [ 5 spoke alloys ], but have got an eye on those R1150 GS wire spoked alloys in the above pix. Slightly smaller rear is the only problem. I was thinking of having them powder coated Gold. IF the frnt wheel is a direct swap for the K1200S, i might just keep the two sets so I can swap them around !

Also, I've had a new underseat stainless exhaust made, but now it's done I can't make my mind up which style to go for. Ahhhh decisions.

There's an ugly rumour going around that the Fighter might be complete and on the road this year !!!!!!! ::)

Looks cool BC...... I have a ZX11 in the wings which will be a streetfighter. I am not usually big on the larger bikes from Japan, but I got this one for free. I will start on it after finishing my K100 and the two Ducs that I am working on. Just keep me informed on the collector situation. Thanks man...... Dew.
