"Beat The Clock" More damn photos

Hey Joe, I'd love to get the wifey a bike, but she has no interest. It would be cool as hell to get to ride with her and it would give me reason to start another build ;D. The last time she was in the drivers seat was back in '87 on my gsxr 750. It was not good. I really should have started her out on something a little smaller. I'd like to get her something real small to start out on then go from there. Maybe in a couple of years when the nest is completly empty. Anyhow, I wanted to add the new photos to video so I put a short piece together. Really nothing new but thought I should share. Warning again: 1)Dont view at work 2)wifey had me put the quote at the end. I think it is a little tacky but wtf.

+1 ;D
I'm pretty sure she said she got it done at think n ink. I know it came up but I forgot about that. I'll have to ask her next time I see her. Does it look famular Screwed and tattooed?

Hell yeah, the shots turned out great brother. Really good stuff. I got a "magazine" feel when looking at them, so I think you hit it on the head. You've inspired me now. Gotta finish paint today.

awesome vid man!
as far as the wife getting her comfortable on the bike... what i did was put her in a local course... i knew that if i taught her i would end up yelling at her or creating drama... our state runs a $20 donation and they provide the bikes... after you are done wth the 3 day class you have a your liscense... i then got a call 4 hours after she was done that she needs a trailer... she just bought a bike! i went nuts!!!! hell i build bikes and she does not bring me with!
worked out alright, i am glad she did it now, she got what she was comfortable on... as time has passed she has outgrown it now, but i have slowly made changes with gearing, exhaust, intake... then this summer a complete build on it... she loves to ride.

some poeple are just not into bikes though, i respect that... do not understand it, but respect it.

what i did to get my wife to fall in love with my 2 wheel addiction was have her help me on her build... i let her design it all, i did not ask questions, i just did what she wanted... and i have to say, she built a sick little bike. she loved it so much so that she wanted a cafe, so now i have a CB500 in the barn... i think i may have created a monster! But it helps that alot of the 1/2 fast chicago crew out this way has female riders, that Maria gets along with really well. So they will go for scoots every now and then

now my goal is to find her a helmet that she likes and will wear!!!

Troy That quote your wife "made" you put there at the end of the video was great. I really believe it and it shows in your build.

Joe,
Your wife rocks man. That is an awsome picture, purse bag and all.

i envy you lol

Ha! My wife finally mowed the lawn for the first time in her life. Who knows. Maybe next she will want a bike too. :D

I honestly think that your bike is the nicest custom Honda I've seen. Man I wish I had some of your talent and creativity!

+1 ;) Joe your wife rocks!

Lots of good advice fellas. Joe I think we have the same kind of 3 day learner program here. Don't know why I've never thought of that. Will have to wait for warmer weather though. Now if I can just get her signed up...

Thank you very much! At first I thought it may be a little tacky but I'm digging it now. I greatly appreciate the kind words!

Jonescafe72, I know it has to be the butt picture that is swaying you. Every time I look at it I get dizzy and have to sit down. Once you get to be my age you really have to be careful when looking at that kind of stuff ;) No, but honestly (no pun intended) thank you so much for the props my friend. Just too kind. You don't know how much I appreciate you saying that!

I looked through the thread but I couldnt find a shot that showed how the exhaust is supported after the head or if it is at all. Im curious because I ordered cl pipes off ebay and they didnt come with any of the brackets so I was wondering if you could snap a shot of how you supported yours.

You got it bud. I'll search my cafe build thread as well, but it is a two piece that is mounted off the swingarm bolt. That is if i remember right. The other bracket was on the mufflers and mounted to a shock bolt or a tab that i cut off. I can't remember exactly.

Here ya go. Let me know if you need more.

Figure it is pretty much needed even if you don't run mufflers. What you are looking at are two pieces. the back "strap" runs the full length all the way down to the swingarm bolt while the front piece is short and only covers the two pipes. Hope this helps.

Yeah that's the stock bracket, ebay should be a good source. That being said I was trying to figure out how to mount those same pipes on Loudbike without the bracket showing, but Chris convinced me that I probably don't need it without the heavy mufflers. He snapped his 350s pipes after a few rides doing that... but for the 360 Honda significantly beefed up the collars at the head, and I've had no problems as of yet (which isn't to say some day they wont snap right off... fingers crossed)
... I meant for that to be a useful comment, not sure if I succeeded

I tried to get my fiancée into this stuff but she can't figure out how to hold the controls and the cell phone at the same time so no bikes for her :(

Weld a couple nuts to the backside of the pipes and then work your bracket to that. Should be simple to hide.....

beautiful bike... beautiful girl...

beautiful bike....

i cant decide what i like more.

Fucking beautiful work...

absolute perfection!

Hahaha! That made my morning!

[/quote] Too funny Mysta.

I really like Swaggers idea of a couple of nuts welded on the back side. Nice and clean and would be easy to do. If nothing else it would give peace of mind. After all these CL pipes are not the easiest to find.

Rocan, Thanks for the props brother. Very much appreciated!
