It's been a while since my last post, but my KZ650 took a dirt nap. Sold it for parts for $1000, and found this gem for the same money.
Here are pics of my 1978 CB750K. This is the way I got her with the exception of the Maier side panels (OE were Broken) and a little polishing. She runs well enough to be a daily driver, and is a blast. Turns alot of heads, especially where I work (Motorcycle Accessories related industry).
Will eventually put the logos and decals back on the side panels, but will probably wait til I have it repianted with new tank decals. Other than this, I will probably leave it stock, 'cept whats not already stock.
Enjoy
So Far this is the lowest offer I have recieved for it. Second day I had it, I was ofer $1700. Within a week, I was offered as much as $3000. The 1700 was serious, rest I don't know. Turned them all down.
Deacon, I was sorry to let the KZ go, but I blew a hole in the #2 piston :
I never expected to get the $1000 for it, was just putting out feelers on CL. Then a guy in Dallas told me that it was exactly what he was looking for and gave me the cash. SOLD!!
Yeah too bad on the KZ Crash.
I guess you did well in getting a Honda for the same price as a blown KZ.
Maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to have a KZ again.
That's why they call me the "Lucky Devil". I tend to find the really good deals.
Really, I knew I wanted a CB750K as my next bike, and just kept searching for the right deal. When this one came up, I pounced on it. Took me almost 3 months to find it. Searched CL, Walnecks, Cycle trader, and put feelers out at work.
Will eventually get another KZ650, hopefully another SR. These two bike have always been my favorite UJM's. I want to leave this one close to stock, but the mod bug is biting me. So, it is either Cafe this one, or get another bike to cafe.
Already putting some bolt-ons on this one. Check out the Super Cool Headlight visor. Should add at least another grand to the value, Right? : : ;D
The 77/78 K's had longer tanks. Im in the process of building a 77 CB750K and put a 73 tank on and there's about a 2" gap from the nose of the stock seat and that older style tank. Just FYI.
That is a nice machine, btw. I'd leave it stock and find a junker to cut up to cafe.

Anarki, good to hear from ya. Ya, shame about Ema, but she got a good home. The guy that bought her rebuilt her over the winter. He comes by my store every now and then. Left my paintjob on it. Every time he comes by, I get to watch her drive away again. But then I look at Betty and smile.
