So I have finally decided to formally introduce myself.
My name is Ben and I hail from the west coast of the mitten.
I have been looking off and on a while for a bike project...Craigslist and so forth, but the idea never really gained more traction than that. That is, until I was at a buddys garage up north, where there was this sad little Honda sitting in the corner. I asked if it ran, he said it kind of did and that he'd essentially never get around to ever working on it. So, I asked him if he wanted to sell it. He said to bring him a growler of Founders beer, and it's mine. DONE.
Fast forward a couple of months for winter to start in and me to have some time and here we are today.
It is a relatively complete 1974 model with 7k on the ticker. Come to find out it has a CB350F tank on it that's been kind of cobbled. I'm going to try to use it, though, as I like its lines. I don't feel bad cutting this bike up...it was kind of crusty.
So I have a broad plan of cafe"ish" roots. We'll see how it goes. I recently picked up a complete front assembly from a 98 cbr600f3 for very cheap...was thinking of using most of it. Again, we will see.
So there we have it...not too big of a project... we'll just see how long it takes me. I'm a mechanic for a living, so the scope of this isn't too out of hand...I'm sure I'll have questions along the way. Sorry for the longwindedness. Oh yeah...nevermind the mess...need to pick up my area, I know.
