Been Around the Block
I've been lurking here for quite a while. I really enjoy this site and how creative it's members are. It's hard to find anyone that builds anything without solely relying on their checkbooks nowadays, but this sight shows that fabricators are still out there.

My current project is a 1990 dr650 (yes the big enduro thing) it has a nice powerful single cylinder engine and good brakes, but is damn heavy and sprung too softly. My original intent was to supermotard it, but that does not address either problem. To get the bike where I want it I am going to have to get radical. I picked up a Suzuki gt250 frame and will be shoehorning the gigantic 650 engine in there. It will require a lot of surgery, but should be worth it.

I do aluminum and composite work on aircraft everyday and will be employing a lot of those skills to this project. This is going to be a super low budget build, meaning that if I want it I will have to make it. This should be a fun.

This should be a cool bike, around 50hp and 300lbs.

I am collecting parts for it right now, but will try to get a few pics up soonish of the meager progress.

Thanks. I will try to get some pics if I get a free moment tonight. Right now it looks like a beat up dr650, a little tiny frame, and a cool semi completed tank.
