Who can speak from theire experiences with using engine paint from a rattle can? Any application and prep tips would also be greatly appreciated. I just bought myself some supplies to build a homemade soda blasting rig, so hopefully that turns out well and i can prep and paint my cases by the weekend and get them assembled by next weekend. YIPEEEE!!!!! I hope...

VHT wrinkle paint - best stuff besides tie-wraps and duc-tape.

Just blast your cases and bomb them. Read instructions on can, and for best result, get an oven.

One thing to remember though.. blast residu gets everywhere. EVERYWHERE. So clean your cases reaal good after blasting with warm water and a brush or something. Do it liberally, 3 times. And then another 3 times. And when you think you're done, Another time. Blasting residu will eat your bearings and stuff.

If your stripping the engine down to cases, put them in the dishwasher to get them clean.

Might want to send the wife / girlfriend out for a few hours while you do this - for some reason they don't seem to like it ::)

And yeah - VHT paints are good. Oven baking them is another good tip. Same as the dishwasher though - send the girl out for a few hours....
