Best way to get old gasket off the back of carb boots? CB350

Just got done putting my top end back together and would like to use the new carb boot/insulator gaskets that came with the kit. What's the best way to get the old ones off? They're stuck to the engine side of the boots and I don't want to damage the rubber surface underneath them.
