Like plastic said VHT is good stuff. Spray it on real heavy and bake it for best results. I put my head in the oven. Just make sure it a not so hot that it warps anything. It take days to dry. Here are a few pics of my head.
what do you bake the VTH at? i have been shooting motors and just hanging them in our powder oven at 200 for a few hours, that way it does not f up the gaskets and seals
I agree Joe. Im a cheap bastard and always looking for a less expensive way to get the job done. In this case I may just go with their product, but we shall see.
nice part about it is you do not need to bake it... i have used it several times and got awesome results the vth is much cheaper but takes much more work ya know... this coming week i am going a 2 week cafe build,,, not going to do any powder on it just a fast build for show and sell with a CB500 i have. i am using the HD wrinkle on the motor in the frame so we will see how this goes hahaha non clorinated carb cleaner here i come!
used a high temp engine paint from auto shop. worked well but worked best if i warmed the part up first then painted it then back in the over ! Just had to work around the wife lol but seemed to give it a nice even wrinkles over it all if you can call wrinkles even ?
bud be careful bakind stuff in your house oven man, when paint/powder is baked it can release some nasty chemicals that will ruin your oven for actually baking purposes... just a heads up
you used wrinkle high temp? or reg high temp... if it is reg it should not have wrinkles
Ya, baking ANYTHING in your kitchen stove is a big no-no. A lot of folks say its a bad idea, but eff that. You could make yourself and others in your house really very sick.
Im grabbing a $10 elec stove from CL, and sticking it behind the garage. Once Im ready Ill just run an extension cord out there and bake away. When Im done, she'll get taken to the scrap yard. Haha.
buts that the plan ! lol no its not the one in my house but the stuff she makes in there sometimes would make you sick ! JRK would like to see the bike your going to do. have seen your 500 i think and its killer ! and i used high temp wrinkle paint they use on valve covers and headers ! not sure how it will do but hopin for the best planning on the worst !
