Bike won't start

I have converted my 2012 CBR 250r to a Street Fighter/Cafe Racer. I pulled off all the farings but left the electronics intact and now it won't start. It appears I'm not getting any spark and I cant figure out why. I need help. Any ideas.

Check the simple things first. Kill switch, plug wires properly connected, ect. I'll bet it's something small that is slippy your mind.

Is the engine turning over, and are you getting fuel? If so, and all your electronics are working properly, check your air. I had that problem when I tried to do the same with my 93 Yamaha FZR-600. Turned out that by taking the fairings off, I was allowing too much air, and I had to adjust my air/fuel ratio.

I have been working on trying to figure this bike out with dshayder. The kill switch is working because when you flip it to run the fuel pump primes. We pulled the plug and hit the starter and we got no spark. The tip over sensor is still installed (in the correct orientation) and we tried by passing the sensor and it still wouldn't fire. It does have a fresh battery and gas in it. We have tried it with the kick stand down and kick stand up. We thought it might have been that we deleted the OEM speedo, so we hooked it back up and it didn't fire. The only thing that I could find disconnected were the turn signals. I told him to hook the speedo back up and see if it is throwing an engine code. EFI is above my pay grade. Thanks in advance

Oh, I did RTFM to no avail.

You need to ground the spark plug to something like the frame before you will see spark.

make sure the battery is hooked up too you putz.

There should be a relay to the coil that is activated by the ECU - I believe - make sure you're getting 12V there.

Make sure all the earth connection straps to the frame are ok.

If you have painted or powder coated the frame, you need to scratch it off at the earth mounts to give a good connection.

I appreciate everyones input/help. I'm going to try these and see what I get. Trying to avoid taking it to Honda and having them charge me a million bucks for a simple fix.

I found out tonight that my new bike requires that you hold the clutch in to use the starter. Hope it's not something really dumb like that, because let me tell you, it's pretty embarassing if you figure it out yourself. Probably worse if you pay someone to make you feel dumb.

Not that, we have a crank no start condition. I am geting 12V at the coil but the coil isn't firing the plug. The ECU signals the coil. And the ECU gets its signal from the crank sensor. What switches can can kill the ignition? tip over, kick stand, anything else?

What have you done with the ignition switch? If it's the HISS type and you've changed it out for something generic you're fucked. The key is chipped to the ECU.

Have you changed the switch? It may not be a HISS one, but some of them have a resistor in the ignition switch to supply reduced voltage to the ECU (my old ZX9 switch had a 100 ohm resistor in it).

If this is bypassed and you send the full 12v to the ECU it will crank but won't fire.

he did remove the stock switch but i can test it for resistance. thanks for the help

Clutch and neutral are the only other two.
If you have 12v on one side of the coil and a the ECU is signalling the coil with 12v I presume , and you have no spark its has to be either coils, plugs. Also if your getting the signal from the ECU then all the sensors /switches will be working correctly.
