I was given a fiberglass cafe seat that I want to put on my CB350. The cowl is so sharp at the rear that I would need to relocate the License plate holder and brake light. I was hoping someone could direct me towards a few options. I was thinking something that bolts from one of the rear shocks.
Also how do most people attach a fiberglass seat to the frame?
the seat is the same as this:

maybe something like this??

On my old KZ I bolted my seat directly to the frame using the existing battery box bolt holes. You don't have that option with the 350 though unless you weld some nuts to the frame. Another option is industrial velcro. I used it to attach my seatpad to the fiberglass seat pan and it worked very well. Very strong stuff.
The bike is being wired right now.......those studs will be shaved during the final set-up!
It's snowing here, so I have until late April to get everything finished!

That's a good look crash. FYI, those air filters you have need to be modified to work properly with your carbs. The rubber boot that attaches them covers the jets in the intake bellmouth. Trust me. It took me ages to figure out why I just couldn't tune the bike right. DOH!
I ended up going with these filters from MikesXS. Problem solved.
i used velcro on my seat... works great!!!!
for the plate, you can do really simple and do a side mount. can make one out of materials from any hardware store and a lamp from a auto store for $5 bucks
make a template out of cardboard, then trace that to metal, i them made some supprots for a idustrial look
IMO the side mount doesn't really fit the style of your bike, more of a Harley bobber look. I would go either with I.Crashalot's style, (I have a very similar set up on mine). Or double up your turn signals as brake lights like JRK5892 did, that looks very slick as well.
thanks for your imput guys. I.crashalot's setup is ideal. My frame is stock and I don't have a welder. I wonder if i could make something up with some clamps?
I do like the idea of having the signal lights as brake lights as well. sounds pretty clean. I wonder if that is dangerous. People not noticing you braking..? I suppose any Red, double filament turn signals will do??

Ya, I know! Luckily, the guy that suggested using CB450 Intake boots knew it and passed it on to me.
I am glad that you posted it, though, so others can learn from your mistakes... 8)
