brake pad removal

I'm having some trouble getting both pads out of the calipers. I have the caliper apart and have removed the cotter pin from the "A" side..but it would come loose. the "B" side is the same issue..

Does anyone have any tips on getting the pad out of the "A" side and what to do about getting the pad out and the piston out of the stuck "B" side.

Any help?

Well for the "B" side, One you have the caliper apart, with the brake fluid line still connected, slowly squeeze the front brake lever until the pad is pushed all the way out. You may need to add fluid as you do this because you are pushing the pad farther then it normally goes. One that is out, check the seals are clean and add a little bearing grease to the sides of the pad and the inside of the cylinder before reassembling. If the caliper is working properly and is clean, the cylinder should slide back in by just pushing with your fingers. Obviously don't grease the pad surface. As far as the "A" side goes, if you have removed the cotter pin, place the part in a vice pad facing down. Spray some penetrating oil into the opening where the cotter pin goes and tap it it with a hammer, using a soft rag in between, that should pop it free. Hope that helps.

Thank you! I'll try the A side first... I rec'd the bike without a front brake...so there isn't a brake line connected... the book says to apply some air to the hole... but I can't seem to get it to budge... I've heard that I shoud bath it in WD40 or lubricant to break it free... but not sure..
