Brake Project KZ650C3

Been Around the Block
Going through the front brakes after I lost them while riding yesterday.

I decided I dont want to deal with the factory master, splitter, multiple lines etc etc etc.

I am thinking about doing a modern Nissin master clyinder 5/8" bore, double banjo bolt, seperate braided stainless lines to each respective caliper.

This would eliminate the three hose setup as well as the splitter under the neck. I think it would be cleaner and more reliable ( less chance of failure?) and easier to work on.

The master is sized the same as factory. I can order Russell braided hoses from Summit (right down the street from where I live) for very cheap if I use a banjo on one end and a -3AN on the caliper end.

I would use either russell or aeroquip 10mmx1.25mm ( need to confirm this size) in the caliper to get to the -3an on the caliper. I need to confirm hose length but I am guessing the 30-33" lines will be close.

What do you guys think?

looking at - $236

dime city - nissin master - $140
summit - russell hoses - 2 @ $30
summit - adaptor fittings - 1 set @$12
summit - double banjo - $12
summit - crush washer pack - $12

I am thinking maybe using a 45 right out of the caliper might back it easier to transition up into the vertical hose. I want to keep the amount of fittings as low as possible. I may be able to order the hose with a banjo on the top and a 45 -3AN on the bottom. Also thinking the straight bangos might not be ideal - not sure if I can get offsets too to sweep the hoses back towards the center of the bike. I do have drag bars so it may not be that much of a sweep. If I keep the hoses a little longer.

I was trying to find pictures of anyone else who has done this. There has to be.

So I changed it up a little bit. Russell makes a bango direct to -3AN adapter so I got that. This will point the -3AN fitting up like the original.

Nice to have the wall of fittings at Summit to help visualize the layout - especially when you find things that will work better. My hoses had to be ordered which was a bummer so Ive changed it back up and decided to use the splitter.
