Kinda...

not sure about the color choice :p but I like it ... did you use a skateboard deck?

ok the mexican blanket is badss. How is that skateboard deck to sit on? i dig the look but i'd be afraid it would...well, wreck my nuts.

YA its a skate deck with 3/4" or so neoprene padding under the blanket. Havent had it on the road yet, but its pretty comfortable to sit on now...

I just want to add - it's great to sit on, but can wreak havoc on your thighs when you put your feet on the ground.

Maybe Von has "child bearing" hips?

:D

those are sick rides....yep, they know how to do it right in Japan!!!
....was thinking more of DIY brat seats that people have done here, if any....

Funny you should ask...
Im working on one as we speak... Came to a grinding halt today though.. There were cracks in the seat pan so I had to get Paul Dutra from Dutra Customs to do some welding repairs on it before I could proceed...

I was gonna do a build thread for the bike but here is a preview of the seat build thus far...

The seat pan is off to be repaired, once it comes back it will get blasted, primed and painted then covered.

The bike is still going through its transformation... so just ignore the bike at the moment...

lookin good man! ... are you gonna trim the sides of that seat pan to get a more sleeker profile? or are you leaving it the same width?
BTW ... where r u getting the upholstery done? really interested in how this seat turns out .... keep posting updates!

Once I get the seat pan back, I"ll actually bend the sides in for a smoother bottom. Im still going to shape the pan a bit for a smoother shape.

Then after its painted I"ll put 1/8 winshield washer hose around the edges. Then pull the stock cover over it and use snaps along the sides to keep it in place...

Well thats the plan anyways... I"ll put up a proper build thread for bike soon...

Thanks Noel!

I can't take credit as a local shop did it. They were recommended by Brad (owned). They did the seat on his 350.

what is the shop and what did it cost?

The shop is called Kent Auto Upholstery in Indianapolis (southside) and I built the seat pan and paid for foam/vinyl. They charged $150 to make the seat.

I took a piece of 1/4" aluminum to the upholster and a picture of a bike from the wrenchmonkees and he gave me this.
