buell R*I*P

I thought Eric Buell was gonna start bawling! :D I liked my two XBs, but mainly just for their looks and novelty. Alas, beauty and cache often fade quickly. I was pretty much over my Buells in a year or so. They just don't stack up to the competition.

It would be awesome to use buell motors for cafe or bobber projects, I hope to do that some day, they are way cheaper than sporty motors, and make sense in cafes anyways

After owning and riding Buell XBs, I can say that they aren't the greatest sportbikes in the world by any means, but I think it's abhorrent and ridiculous to cannibalize them to make Mutant Choppers or some other monstrosities. Buells are made as good as they can be, which is a testament to Eric Buell's ability to work with what he had. Like I've said before, radically altering a sportbike is like taking a sports car and turning it into a pick up truck...

Now should be the right time to buy a new one

Wow that is insane.

For a class I had, I chose to do a marketing report on Buell a while back. I went to a dealership to do research when the CR just hit to floor, I loved it!

The salesmen were very nice in helping me with my questions and giving me really awesome info to cite even though I wasn't buying anything at the moment. Even one of the mechanics came out and started talking about all kinds of different stuff with me.

Sad that HD cut them loose. With the 1125 engine, I thought they finally produced some top tier bikes.
