So I'm debating between classic bullet style turn signals and more modern flush turn signals. They will be attached to the sides of the hump.

Depends on the overall style of the bike. If you go with the flush mounts, I'd try to make them blend in as much as possible - you could even use some that are recessed into the hump vs. surface mounted.

Frankly the only 'classic' turn signals there are IMHO are the frying pan sized ones that came on production bikes in the 60's/70's.

If you don't need to be DOT-compliant, you can also look at flexible LED strip options which would blend in to the seat hump on the underside/rear or something, too. And there are flush mount styles where the lens is truly flush with the surface, not just a plastic bump sticking off the side.

But for the choice given, 1) totally depends on the look of the bike; do you have a pic or a concept? and 2) definitely NOT fake carbon-fiber look if you go for the flush-mount.

As this is a personal question about taste..

I HATE THOSE BULLET ONES.

they look like you wanted some chrome on your bike, but then again, choose for plastic. Easy way out and hidious IMHO.

If your concern is which is going to be more noticeable from the car behind you, go with the bullet signals. Those flush mounts have a very narrow beam that can be tough to see.

The little bullets are near impossible to see when installed, and you can't get a bright enough bulb for them to make them useful. I've run them before on a VN800A and my wife couldn't see them riding behind on her bike... look next to the tail light, they are on there... even w/o the bags they worse than useless. Look good but not very functional...

The peel and stick don't hold up very well. Poor quality adhesive.

I should clarify a few things. Those pictures were just rough representations of what each product looked like not what I would actually buy.

(I would never get fake carbon anywhere on anything I own.)

I have some bullet signals on my bike and they are extremely bright, even more then my LED tail light.

These ones from Dime City (Airtech sells them too). Aluminum and steel with nice gauge wiring, plus they look sort of OEM.

I had some of those plastic bodied signals on the bike before and the light output was pretty dismal, and broke really easily.

those plastic signals are shit, they're dim as all hell so you might as well go with no signals, no shop with a conscience would pass inspection with signals that small and dim, the ones from dcc above I don't know anything about, so I won't fathom a guess, the ones I personally use on all my builds are the more rectangular ones that come in brushed aluminum, you can get them in either single or dual filament, they're pretty tough, and usually retail for about $30
