By my understanding, a motorcycle shoe cannot be made. Shoes do not cover the ankle. If you don't care about ankle protection, then would not any sturdy leather shoe be suitable?
I hope you guys don't think I like those Gasolina boots. Those things are straight out of the nineteenth century. Personally, I just wear my Asolo hiking boots with rubber toe. I also have some Wolverine and Timberland Pro work boots that aren't so bad for biking.

..I can't get those boots out of my head, it's like they want me to buy them, i just can't stop thinking of their two tone leather awesomeness and that hypnotic little tassel..
From a protection point of view, they all look equally as poor as the builder boots I wear, but still better than shoes. (I bought a pair of used Sidi proper bike boots (that don't fit me). They seem to be a well regarded brand, but the boots are far less substantial than the builder boots...)
From a cosmetic point of view, I think we would strongly disagree, so it would be a waste of button presses for me to comment.
For business purposes an Aerostich one piece is really the best.... You might look like a geek, but you can wear whatever you want under it and be clean when you arrive. Only the shoes are the weak spot. Of course the price is a killer unless you buy on flea Bay. I have some of their Darien pants and can zip them over whatever in about 30 seconds and feel protected in traffic. Kevlar jeans are heavy and hot in the office, Nice in the winter months though.
But you can buy one Aerostich suit and keep it for the rest of your life. My man Steve has had one for 13 years and has put at least 100k on it, wrecked three times (lots of hard enduro) and they've patched it for him a couple times (which is free).

This is true. A caveat to it, there are chinese knock offs out there now that are getting sold on ebay and CL and are not this good, they are actually dangerous. I read about them on a UK moto site. So know your source before you fork out dough on one.
