Is this a southern thing? I was able to get my 75 CB360 for $600 in great running order, great shape and only 8000 miles for $600 in New Jersey. I saw cheap bikes all the time when I lived in Philly. I rarely see anything under $1500 around Augusta unless it's borderline destroyed. Granted, I've only been here since June, but that seems like the trend.

I was afraid that might be the case. I just want a second bike, and finding one is proving to be a hell of a task.

pm me what you are looking for and if i see one or have one in your budget i will let you know

It may be. I can just about guarantee that no one will buy that bike at that price and the seller will never wise up and price it where it should be. Everyone down here is on harleys and sport bikes there is no market for these bikes except to maybe a small few. People just don't realize how much time and money will have to go into something that they let rot off to he side for the last twenty years. I really can't stand someone who let's something go to crap because they are too lazy, ignorant and dumb to fix something. Most of them have that old pipe dream of getting to it one day to make it he sharpest bike you've ever seen. Yeah right!

This crap annoys me. I can build a deathtrap with no suspension, but I cannot or am not willing to clean out the pilot jet in the carburetors. Really? Clean them and let someone know that it runs like crap rather than just say "pilots dirty" bah.

Someone will die on that. Lazy people, man.

Here's one w/o title high asking if just an average xs750- but it's a euro model, wire wheels. Somebody needs to make an offer and snag it.

It's definitely a southern thing. I don't really understand why there are so many vintage bikes in the north but down here there is almost no supply, so prices are high. I eventually gave up and bought a decent one and had it shipped to me instead of paying slightly less for a complete shit bucket locally.

A lot shorter riding season in the north= lower mileage. Also bikes are typically in better shape from being ridden in nice weather only and not as much severe sun damage. Not uncommon for owners to lose interest after a couple seasons if bike needed a good tune up or carb cleaning so instead of paying dealer, they just got pushed to the back of the garage. I know of a '72 cb350 and a mid-80's cb650 nighthawk laying in wait here in Cleveland that I can't get the owners to let go. Since they don't have a lot of money invested, they all think "someday I'll fix it up". never happens.
