My kid needed a bike.... He wanted the same old cookie cutter crap all kids want, but I was able to talk him into going and seeing this http://images.traderonline.com/img/5/plcnad/8529648/112877691_1thumb_770x574.jpg. We dragged it out of a guys back yard, somehow got it running and brought her home. we washed a decade or so of gunk off her, played with the carb and have her running pretty well. My kid is in love and is going to spend today changing fluids and making adjustments. It's only got 6.5k on the clock, has new tires and a nice Mikuni carb, and Marchesini wheels. Amazing torque, it's a wheelie machine. I know Buell's aren't to everybody's taste, but the lumps are solid, the frame is bitchin and it's far from the cookie cutter bikes out there. He's stoked and I'm going to get some seat time this weekend. This thing is a beast....

If it works then its price vs effort right? At least its not a 17" seat height with a 9' chain.

Yeah I think it's a good example of putting too much money into small parts and not having enough cash to finish the whole thing. I'm thinking maybe 3K? but yeah if some numpty is willing it's worth a shot.

"Wouldn't take much to make it normal" ... Well then why the fuck did you put a quad front end on it? Less work to just replace the front end ? I'll bet the stem is out of wack.
