I have no interest in this bike, but I'm curious how difficult it is to register a bike with no title that is purchased in Canada and brought to the USA?

Anyone ever done this before? I'm sure each state has different regulations.

This is key. In Georgia, a bill of sale and VIN check by the cops and you're golden, no matter where you bought it. No titling of bikes older than 1985, just a registration.

The biggest problem may be getting it across the border without a title. A bill of sale may not cut it.

There is so much about this CB550 that I don't like, including but not only the price. It's an expensive turd!
There's a guy who popped up here trying to sell his for damn near $5K.

I don't get it.

I guess with what CB450's go for, this is reasonable, it looks nice, anyway.

4K that needs to have 4k worth of work to get you to market value.... I'm a huge Bomber fan and right now it seems people are pushing the market, but reality is, I've seen the same bikes listed for months if not years now. Like the muscle car market, greed is killing the hobby. The muscle car guys are freaking because their target (older guys) is drying up. The same is happening to the vintage bike market. There are garages of these things piled up in "builders" shops, like every business, there is diminished return (hipsters are moving on, old guys are dieing) The $ is running out, so you have to sell T-shirts and hats to pay the bills. NOBODY wants to pay 7k+ for a 2k bike that's been butchered, and boxes of mismatched parts don't usually bring 4k (unless they're from a Vincent).

If you hunt long enough, there are still reasonable bikes out there. I just picked up a BSA real reasonable. Let people sit on their turds long enough and hopefully we'll get the hobby back to where it should be. 7k CB160's are insane. I hope one day to add a Bomber to the garage and several other bikes. Hang in there guys...

1500 tip tops for that :-\ its a rough parts bike the engine may be shot,a melted or rusty unit inside .rear axle proly needs a bulldozer to yank it free, brake drums swimming in red assbestos dust, the , forks are full of rusty water 8 out of 10 of those 'barn' fines rendereing all but the sliders scrap etc.......if you are ever buying old forks ask about what they are like inside
