"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Ever wonder why so many cafe racers are heavily "invested" in then sold shortly thereafter?

Maybe it doesn't ride or handle well??
They aren't doing it for the profit

With 3 days left. I bet it see's a tad over 2k.

Its crazy... I remember when these bikes cost $250.00.

I sold my 1971 cb500 that was SUPER clean for $700.00 back in 1998. And it wasn't easy.

now you guys make me feel real old

when i first started pumping gas at my grandfathers gas station premium was 48 cent a gallon

diesel fuel was 18 cents a gallon in canada

cigarettes were 46 cents a pack and we sold them in the little booth

i remember when they went to 50 cents a pack everyone bitched and said they were going to quit

we bought a colour tv in time to watch the first episode of star trek i was very proud we had one of the first on our

street

in winnipeg manitoba i could still dial my grandmothers or home (any number) by just dialing the last four digits

the 334 was not needed

i remember steam trains going by my house

i remember when everything had points

i used to get dropped off at the movies for saturday matinee and a nickel got you in

you could by a candy bar for a nickel bubble gum for a penny

i am feeling old right now so i will go for a ride

A fair bit more if it had nice stock pipes. Or even 400F pipes. Repaint isn't Olive or Red but that other color... "Glory Blue Black Metallic". Not a lot of info to go on, including how many miles it actually has on it -- speedo say 32k. Looks beautiful though.

I've had one of these for 18 years or so, got it for $500 in amazing shape, and owned a few more over the years. A guy gave e a red one for free because he saw me riding my green one. Asked me if I needed parts, told him mine ran just fine, and said "You can just have it". Got it running and sold it to a friend for $300. People are on to these now, though, and they're toted as "rarer than the CB400F" because of fewer model years. Beautiful bikes, said to be Soichiro Honda's favorite bike.

I'm guessing closer to $3500.

We must be from the same Era. Regular was $0.25 gal when I first had my license. I used to fill my CB350 in 1972 and if I hadn't hit reserve, I couldn't put more than $0.50 in. A 20 gallon car tank was a $5.00 fill up.

The TAX on gas today is more than I paid for a motorcycle fill-up.... :-\

Seems like a good deal considering how much I have seen these going for cb550

While I don't think it's the worst I've seen... The short Z bars mounted backwards is just stupid. Would actually maybe sorta kinda look a tad better with them mounted correctly.

Did you catch the Q & A on that post?

Q: does it have a butthole tickler installed?
A: Actually, the stock butthole tickler was removed by the previous owner, and replaced with the SuperTickle 9000. i guess that i should have mentioned such an upgrade in the post, but I must have forgotten. As I am sure you know, the SuperTickle 9000 came out a few years ago and features a variable speed motor and a ergonomic tickle post. Both of which are must-haves for the true American motorcyclist.

I spit coffee all over my keyboard.... I can't imagine buying that bike without the tickler. lol.

There are some interesting 350F sales on Ebay besides this one.

Not my thing, but cool to see 4-4 high pipes.

At $500, hasn't hit reserve, but could go for a reasonable price.
