"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Ok, thread derailed.

Serious question, though...you can sell a bike that you still are making payments on, but you can't part it out? It may be worth more parted out speaking hypothetically. Maybe I'm being naive here, but could it be the guys intention to pay it off after he parts it out. The portion where he said he doesn't have the title was removed by the time I saw the ad so maybe I'm missing something critical here...

And also, quite debating in absolutes. If you judge ethics by absolutes then were all hypocrites. Everyone here has stolen something at some point and everybody here would snitch on somebody. Snitches end up in ditches, but you're telling me you wouldn't call a cop if you saw a neighbor diddling a child? It's a judgement call along a broad spectrum and we all probably fall pretty close in where we make that call. We all thought it was a shitty thing the guy was doing, and none of us called the cops. All the "F-you's" around here have a lot more to do with alpha male toe stomping and very little to do with ethics.

When you sell something you don't own the lien is transferred to the new buyer. IE shop/bank still owns the bike. This guy is dismantling and selling a bike owned by joe blow honda....or wherever. Unless its paid off its not yours to dispose of as you please. Unless the bike exists as collateral the whole idea of a loan falls apart,

Wow all of that is a complete hypocrisy. Everyone does something wrong. By your logic and xb33bsa then a law is a law no matter how big or small. Then how come you don't call the cops and report yourself every time you speed, rolling stop,DUI,smoke pot, download or anything. It's amazing how stupid and contradicting snitches really are. They will sure tell on someone quick but not themselves. If you won't tell on yourself and tell on everybody else your a lying, bigot ass snitch and in the end karma will have your day.

I don't know who the hell xb33bsa is and he doesn't seem to be well liked, so don't lump me in with him.

I completely agree with Mr_Dunev you are not a "snitch" if you take the side of a victim rather than that of a criminal.

Why in the world would someone defend someone who is being dishonest, trying to pull something over on someone and taking the easy way out of a bad situation they got themselves into instead of being a man and taking responsibility.

I understand looking out for #1, but the whole attitude of putting yourself before others no matter how it affects them is why this country is in the state it is right now. People litter because they don't give a shit and figure some one else will pick it up for them, people abuse the welfare system and don't care that it is paid for by hard working people's taxes, when people hit and run they cause damage and yet they just don't want to take responsibility..... If you like all of those things I guess you are a bad ass and because I think all of those things are bad I am a snitch.. cool.

I went to buy a car a few months back, and the guy was a complete piece of trash. He kept me waiting for several hours, when he finally showed up the car had a flat that it had been sitting on for quite some time, I went to swap out the spare for him so I could test drive it, that was also flat.. I took it to the gas station and got it filled up swapped out the wheel, Test drove it and found numerous things that he failed to mention in the ad, it was still a decent deal for what it was so I told him I would take it. He said he had to go a town over to get the title, we waited about 45 min he came back and the title still had the dealer stamp with no release of lien... at no point did he mention that. If I didn't know my shit I would have purchased the car and would have been stuck with the lien. The whole time he just didn't give a shit and was trying to pull something over on me.... So yeah I have a problem when dishonest people try to take advantage of other people for their own gains even if they are just trying to get themselves out of a bad situation (one that no doubt being a careless and irresponsible got them into in the first place).

Sir you are obviously an intelligent person as evidenced by your vast vocabulary "lying, bigot ass snitch", so surely you can make the distinction between a victimless crime and one that that has consequences. I don't "DUI" because that is not a victimless crime, lots of people die every day because someone couldn't control themselves and make responsible decisions. Speeding is not obeying an arbitrary limit set by someone else that in most cases does not affect anyone else on the road... now reckless driving on the other hand does.

I hope that wasn't too real.

Like Parkwood60 I usually just flag stuff like this for removal when I see it on CL.

Probably the same reason this guy made his tail piece from a bucket and flipped the stock bars upside down. They just don't know any better....

Agreed. Nothing was meant as a personal jab... the internet has a mysterious of turning people against each-other.

Midwestgl500 I hope no harm no foul.
