Total monet. 50' and squinting.

If this bike ends up on PipeBurn of any other similar site, I am throwing in the towel. What a mess.

On a side note, for those, like myself, lacking in knowledge.... that Silverwing engine is basically a CX engine with larger displacement?

HR.

Is that a canteen for an oil tank? I would gladly part with a few lunch cards for it if just to fix the fender and put a proper tank back on.

Condition is listed as "NEW". Really?

BTW, I think I have seen this bike pop up for sale a couple of times, in the past....

The silvering if its a 500 is the same as a cx......the only difference is the ignition system being a TI but the 82 CXs got a TI ignition as well, the earlier CXs got a CDI ignition. And the Gl came in a 500 or 650

I'm thinking those RFY shocks are going to be sprung waaaay too stiff for that little XL. I hope the front springs were replaced to match.

Ha. I missed the "only thing it is missing it the kickstarter" in the description. All that work and they didn't replace the kickstarter. I had to buy a parts bike for that shaft. They are getting harder and harder to find.

The CX's also came in 650 and a turbo model in both 500 and 650 as well.

well they may not, he has the shocks "forward mounted" bottom mount mooved forward away from the axle, this was a common mod starting in'74 or so...increased wheel travel and requires fermer springs and damping because of increased lev-rage on the shock...
these type of mods and upgrades continued year after year on oem bikes and those that could did our own until finally the practical limit of rear wheel travel was reached 12-13" or so.. it would be a more complete elsie vision with elsinore forks and triples

I like how it says no rust, but every hole, bolt, and cranny is all rusty

Exactly what I thought. Could make that trailer even more affordable. $700 would be a nice price.
