Sweet looking bike. Love that colour.

And those clown shoes. Did he really chop off the stock mufflers and leave open pipes? What a ........................ (insert your own favorite term of endearment)

...and they say there's nothing new under the sun. Crappy pics, but...

This may open a can of worms, and I apologize for asking a dumb question. But I have to ask, if someone could clarify for me, why is this a dangerous ride? Or what exactly is wrong with this? To me it "looks good" but I know looks are not everything. I am currently riding a nearly bone stock cb750 and plan to build it into a "cafe styled" build, with modifications to help power and handling but still keep an older look. And I don't want to be "that guy" that thinks he built an awesome bike but everyone is laughing at me. And if this isn't the place let me know.

well a can of worms you may have opened. This is what some on here call the hipster or "what not to do" bike. Some are just bigger douches about it than others. Some would argue that the mods on that bike make it function worse than stock.
To name a few

firestone deluxe tires don't grip the road, all for looks

lowered front end changes rake and trail, making it quicker to steer and could end up in a tank slapper

seats like that tend to get bumped by the rear tire when you hit a bump, also possibly causing loss of control

Good questions to ask though. The answers will all vary. Good luck with your bike my friend

You know what? This is exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you. I consider myself anything but a hipster. I may only be 27, but I have been building cars for as long as I can remember. I have a 1940 chevy lead sled custom right now. I have had bikes but never built one the way I wanted. I have admired the old cafe racers long before they became popular, but you see so many that look good from a far but are far from good. I got on here to hopefully learn something and not make a bunch of mistakes along way. Thanks for the answers!

Even clearer... The flintstones are not (IMO) rated for over 5 miles an hour, they are coker remakes for museum puddle makers. the seat actually has a kicker so it may bottom without setting the skateboard on fire. the little nosedive could be a problem, but if you know it's there you can also learn to learn if it's gonna head shake you into a cosmo and fix it. The pipes are a no no for power and just plain stooopid. All of the issues with this little jewel could be remedied in a few hours. The thing with the classics is unless you keep it stock down to the tools in the little pouch under the seat you have a chance of being called a dick. I relish this behavior because these guys are never really concerned and usually just want to show off there knowledge and move on... build whatever you fucking want, just do what you can not to die on it and to hell with the purist "you can't do that" crowd... hell it's the very narrative that built this forum.

My first thought was the pipes are ridiculous, and the tires are just for looks, I would rather have it grip the road over look vintage. The lowered rake and seat though would not have occurred to me. And my bike isn't going to remain stock, the bars have been changed before and the tank has some dents, rear shocks are useless... I just recovered the original seat, went through the brakes, and cleaned it up bit to enjoy this season then I will make it my own.

Also the fact that the seller thinks that bike is somehow worth $6500 in it's current state of "less than stock"

I mean, at least he has the stock airbox on, but without mufflers (almost anything would be better than none), no fork brace, clubman bars but no rearsets, shitty tires, etc. it's bound to be both uncomfortable to ride, lower performance than stock, and unbearably loud. I've ridden with no mufflers on my 750 and it sounds legit like a NASCAR underneath you, it is atrocious and guranteed to make that bike run like garbage.

I also love how it "has 100 miles on it since being completely gone through" but also goes on to say it received a "fresh tune up." So you want to explain to me how that motor's been "gone through" or nah?

Probably nah.

School? What the heck is that???? And visualization? Are you wanting to see my old beater bike? I'll have to get some current pictures later. Nothing on my work computer.

And $6500 is crazy, I got my bike for the low price of FREE. With a title and rode it home!

If you're a car builder, than you also know it's the same song and dance with the car guys. I'm on a B Body Mopar forum also and it's the same shit there. There's a lot of "You don't deserve..." "You can't..." "You're using the wrong style of rivets on your fender tag." Funny thing is, an awful lot of these guys have chopped up a few of these bikes themselves. I can point to a few who were even running the Firestones a few years back.

Crazy thing is, that bike would look great with some shorty reverse cones on it. I am really not a fan of straight pipes on café racers.... well... nor on most bikes actually.

I think you mean "ETHNIC ENGINEERED"
A term I coined to avoid singling any particular group out.

round these parts we refer to things as being 'ethnically enhanced', mind you we also call all the OCC/West Coast Chopper styled stuff as 'Woppers' (shorthand for Wog Choppers as they do tend to be the province of the kebab botherers - or Lebanese/turkish as they would prefer to be known)
