"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Yamaha buys their oil from the lowest bidder to meet their minimum requirements. It's made by Citco in Chicago and there is absolutely nothing special about it.

Supply the data or it's Bull Shite.

I've been meaning to ask... How many of the motorcycles do you call people about details and price that you never intend to actually buy? "never" not "maybe" or "if it has/had..." I mean basically harassing people to subside boredom

An interesting trio...

So, the 450 is out of the system and the 750 would cost $635 to register because of back fees

No data, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't true. That's kind of how motor oil production works. I worked at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond California for a decade and most of the motor oil sold west of the Rockies was produced there and sold under pretty much any label. Sometimes the final seller added detergent, etc...but usually not. There were a couple exceptions but not many.

Who told you no paperwork in California is hell? It is the easiest state I have ever lived in...

Truth.

One caveat though...the process can be made much easier or much more of a hassle just depending on the mood your particular DMV contact is in that day. I'm surprised at the arbitrary decisions I've witnessed at the DMV...

...most of them in my favor because I'm sooooooo sweet.

I have a cousin that retired from the Marathon Oil refinery that is local to me. He worked in the testing facility trying to blow up different engines using all the types of oil and checkin wear on said engines. I value his opinion on motor oil. But he also says if you change it regularly in a normal everyday driver you will not have many issues. On another subject my uncle used to haul gasoline and said there was not much difference between the different brands...BP added more ethanol than the others.but this was several yrs ago...things have probably changed.. ;)

I guess I'm the only one that thought a $20 ad for 3 qts of motor oil that's been sitting in someone's garage for 20 years or so (when the oil probably cost less than a dollar) was funny. ::)

I work for a very large AC company. Our base stock oil can come from a variety of people, but the particular blend of additives is exclusive to us. We were using Sun oil for while for the base stock, but I know we have used Exxon/Mobil and Castrol in the past. At any rate,a spectrometer analysis tells us if the customer was using our oil, someone eleses, or a non-spec oil.

I would not be surprised if any Honda/Yamaha, etc oil is made by "local" oil companies, but the additives are to their respective owners.

Anyone need this?

Seems like a good price for parts.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. You said it better.

All day long the Security Staff (mainly retired Police officers) read Craigslist from around the US and call/email to fill their day. They tell the sellers how they used to have one just like that but they put in platinum spark plugs and it was 10mph faster. They especially like making offers just to see how much they could buy something for. They use "calling cards" from the 90's that allow them to pick a local area code. It's weird.

1969 -- 360? It's strangely both repulsive but killer. Best part of the ad? "It's not running right now for simple reasons" -- and he'll consider for "practical trades"

They have 12hrs a day to fill...I bring them my old copies of magazines and SEMA stuff but they blow through it. They did like the Latino booty/low rider magazines the best.

Ya, I would love to see how this does in a AHRMA race. I hear those Firestones are pretty competitive tire.
