I'm stoked to be able to watch something about what I love, BUT I'm afraid the originality of cafe's will be lost due to over exposure.
Let's hope it doesn't turn into the next chopper scene.
Oh well. Let's enjoy the show
very cool to see some exposure, over the past 4 years, I've noticed that the people who roll down their windows next to me at lights go from saying:
whoa, what kind of bike is that? to
damn, that's a cool old school bike, what is it? to
nice bike man, is that some kind of old racer? to
nice cafe bike dude, is it a honda?
my guess is that within the next 5 years due to popularity of the genre, anywhere between one and seven small corporations will be formed by some ivy leaguers with venture capital from some other older ivy leaguers who will spend their oodles of dollars having some designers come up with their ideas and have some consultants take those ideas to x y or even z third world country to produce the parts, and then flood the market with somewhat generic vintage looking bike kits of moderate quality so that every flannel clad hipster with a trust fund will rush out and buy one, such that the people pulling up beside me will go from saying:
hey, cool cafe man. to
nice cafe bike dude, is that a caferockmonstersofsoutherncalifornia kit? to
is that a cafe bike dude? did you build it or something??? to
nice bike dude, haha, what did you build it yourself? sheeze... I've got one of those in my basement
but I'm on the pessimistic side of realism, so maybe the home builders will still be held on high, who knows
