cafe tank for a XS

Does anyone know what tank will fit on a 79 Yamaha XS 650?
I don't want to do to a lot of mod to make it fit, but I would like to get
good looking cafe type tank.

Lots of tanks will fit with minimal work. Some use a GS450 tank (the one with knee indents). I'm pretty sure a Honda CB750F tank would fit too. The cups on the frame for the front tank mounting rubbers would need to come off (just spot welded on) and replaced with a threaded rod to hold the Honda tank rubbers.

you can use a tank off ayamaha 750 too.....same as tintin said, you have to reverse the front mounts...

How about this tank. Looks like it would fit. It is a little longer than the stock tank.
The current bid is $76, might be a little higher than I want to go.

looks like a old binnelli tank, ask him for pic of under side to see if tunnel will fit.

Good luck getting a hold of him. Joe Purshock is the guy who runs the vintage side of Cosmo, and he is very difficult to communicate with. I tried giving him money for a seat pan for over a month, and when he ceased email replies, I decided I better not send him money. Looking at their eBay feedback, it is pretty good, bt the negatives that are there echo my experiences, no communication, payment and no goods, etc.
