Been Around the Block
I pulled my tension slipper out last night just to check the condition. That was the first time I've cracked this motor open. I was just wondering what some of you do to reinstall the tension slipper?
I see there is a special tool called the "push rod tool" that apparently threads into the tensioner rod down below, so that you can pull on it to relieve the pressure on the horseshoe. Has anybody ever used this tool? Or know what the thread size/pitch is on it? Is it even necessary?
I reinstalled mine by just pushing down on the slipper. Of course this required a little bit of force.
Just wondering if there are alternative methods to installing the tension slipper guide?
