Coast to Coast
I've line-up everything LT mark with cam and thing doesn't quite line up...

I'm I crazy? Is the timing ok?

It may be. Here's what I did because mine was slightly off. I moved it by one tooth. It was off way more. Question answered.

When I try to move it the tooth doesn't line up so that's why I'm inquiring.

Well, you might have mentioned what bike you are working on.

Cam chain stretch can cause the timing to go a wee bit off. Nothing you can do about it but replace the cam chain, or just call it close enough.

Sorry. Cb450.

Cam chain has 100miles on it so call it new.

So I guess that's pretty common...

Thanks.

That's weird Joe, I was just in mine last weekend, it has around 500 miles on a rebuild and my lines are pretty well on, like the width of the line under the mark.

Might post that one up on twins, see what Steve thinks.

The marks are to help you get the chain on the right teeth on the cams. If you put it one tooth over in either direction and the mark is further away then the first one was the correct alignment. If it is slightly off, I don't know any way to adjust it.

For everyone's information. The intake cam was one tooth of. After fiddling with the chain I was able to put it right on.

Awesome! Do you think it might not have been seated properly on the crank sprocket?
