Can I damage an electronic flasher relay by hooking it up backwards?

I hust bought a generic flasher relay with two wires. There is no markings on it, but one is red and one is black.
Will I ruin it if I get it in the wrong way round?

there's no backwards on a flasher like that, it's a thermal relay, so current can flow either way, it doesn't care

if it's electronic, it usually has 3 leads... in any case, red is + black is -, except in the world of motorcycles, where black is usually positive, green is negative, unless it's right from the battery, in which case it's red, or maybe black with a white or red stripe, or red with a white wire... ... hmm

No. If you hook it up backwards it simply wont work. Just swap the wires ;)

That's more old Hondas than anything else (green being ground).
