carb synchronization

I've used that set, and I say there pretty damn good and quite accurate. The only thing I could say negative about them, is the little screw valves to adjust the amount of gauge "flutter" basically you have to play with the little valve alot to get all the sync needles so there not moving a huge amount with every vacuum pulse.

8/10 IMHO.

The one I have is better, they use a metal style check valves as restrictors instead of the little plastic needle valve, and it has a nice aluminum case with foam padding. However it was over $200 bones.

I was looking at manometer gauges at local tool/parts store for $15 each. Might try these or just the vinyl line design. Gauges are easier to store though...

where do you connect it to on the carb?

Depends on the carb but there is usually a nipple (or other method of access, sometimes behind a screw) right on the end of the carb where it meets the manifold/boot.

If you're going to make a habit of playing with old motorcycles, I'd recommend investing in one of these:

I should add- If you have a twin, there's no real point in buying the 2 port synchronizer, just get the 4 port
model and you can use it on everything.

Iv'e had a carbtune for a while they are a doddle to use, even for complete novices.

anyone know how much a Carbtune runs you in USD? a quick google search isn't yielding anything aside from a listing of $70 for a 2-port, and i'm guessing about $20 to ship it over the pond.

If my calculations are correct, it would be $93.52 for a four port model, including shipping to the US.

That sounds about right too...it's been a couple of years, but I think that was approximately what I paid for mine.
Sort of pricey, but well worth it.

thanks! sounds like something worth splitting between a couple friends.

No thanks - I'll stick with the $1.55 plastic tube. Works like a charm for me.

To me paying that sort of money for a Carbtune is like buying a $500 toaster.
