Cb 175 Cam Chain closed loop

I know, I know this has been beaten to death. I spoke with a very reputable engine tech today and he mentioned purchasing a closed loop cam chain. Has anybody come across this kind of thing for these bikes? My personal experience says that this is impossible or at least very difficult to achieve. Any thoughts?

If I'm not mistaken, the original chain is a continuous chain. I haven't seen an aftermarket chain like it, but I haven't really looked either.

The factory chain has a master link.

Your tech is correct in a general sense. Endless chains are probably safer than those with clips, but that's not an option in your motor. In reality linked chains rarely fail. Our race 175 motors use a soft rivet link and they didn't fail even when a valve head fell off.
