CB 360 Carbs Altenatives

Are you referring to stock carbs, or Mikuni VM carbs? I have used totally stock carbs, stock carbs modified by CrazyPJ, and 28mm Mikuni VM carbs. I have bought stock carbs on Ebay, cleaned them, then sent them to PJ. I love the way PJs carbs work on these engines, but the VM is a nice second option.

Yeah, I had PJ do 4 of my cb350's he's great. But I already had the carbs. But this bike doesn't have any so I was wondering if better to just go with Mikuni new.

If Ebay has used stock carbs that look decent, I wouldn't hesitate buying them. I haven't yet run into a set so trashed they couldn't be rebuilt, even on bikes I bought that lay outside for years in the yard of meth heads. For me, it's more about what do you prefer to run, the stockers modified or the VM. The last 360 I built, I actually ran it first with the VM then went back to PJ modified carbs.

hahaha thanks, man. I guess I will go with stock and send it to PJ. PJ's run fine even without air filters:eek:

Few years ago I bought a set off eBay for $200 and they were a disaster, BUT, I really needed a set at the time so couldn't afford to wait for something better. Since then, I've had pretty good luck with 360 carbs at around $75.00. They have to be cleaned and modified so I don't worry about being a bit dirty.
I have multiple sets of 32mm (and larger) VM's but only had one set of them working right. 28mm are probably better but I modified mine to use emulsion tubes with Honda jets as I understand them better.
LOL, making Mikuni's into Kei-Hin hybrids
