cb 450 brake pivot arm?

stevendefense

torch cut & hammer fit
I recently found a decent cb/cl450 on the local craigslist. The bike needs a little work, but the price is about right and the guy is selling a lot of extra parts with it. The one thing that worries me is what he calls the brake pivot arm(?) is broken. He recently installed a 2 into 1 exhaust which required the removal of the center stand. He told me that the bar that the stand pivots on is also attached to the brake arm some how. When he went to remove the center stand the bar was bent and he had to cut it.

This dilemma has lead me to ask several questions,

Is this a part that is easy to find?
Will the rear brake still function without it?
Is they guy even correct about what it is?
Can someone take a pic of what this part is supposed to look like so I can determine if I can make one?

Thanks for the help.

ouch.... yeah.. you gonna need that if you are going to use the stock brake pedal...
If you put on rearsets, then you wont need it.
I pulled that whole piece off my cb450 when I mounted rear-sets on the passenger peg..

The whole assembly should be easy to find at a junkyard/Ebay.

And yes you will need it for the stock brake assembly to work, but rearsets can work without it. I have one, but I'm keeping it so that I have my center stand.
