CB 500 - No idle, no power at low rev, black spark plugs (4-1 and pods)

Just installed a carb rebuild kit and the bike idle and runs real smooth, starts really easy. But it sort of got less power over 3000 now. And not really a peak at any rev.

It still leaks a bit from the tubes from the carbs when turning of the engine.

If it's dripping fuel with the engine off either the float level is wrong or its got leaky needle valve seats.

I left one of the old needles when i couldnt get one of the screws of that holds the slide together. Could it be that? I will check the levels again.

How do i get a damaged screw out? My screwdriver fits perfect, but one of the screwheads are badly damaged.

Not the slide needle. He means a bad needle and seat. Which is the is what the floats open and close.

Wel they are brand new!
I suppose that the float level isnt 100%

It could also be a crack in the part of that brass tube inside the float bowl. They age harden and crack and leak.

Did you fit teh main jets from that jet kit? If so, take them out and dig a hole in the garden and bury them and get replacements from Honda or a reputable jet place like jets R Us
