Hey so I'm putting my carbs back together and i'm wondering what piece is this?

I didn't pull this piece out of the carb when taking it apart, so i've got no idea where it goes.

Thanks

that clip is used to adjust the position of the needle jet. the only way to get at it is by removing the top cover and then the slide.

thanks for the info. Does it matter which ring of the needle i put it on?

Yo! I got the repair kit(s) at http://www.amazon.com/HONDA-carb-repair-kits-1976/dp/B006ID2NNU
Pretty decent price I think.

Put the clip back in the same slot as the old one was in, if you are replacing the needles MAKE SURE they are the SAME, some are tapered different then OEM and will cause mixture problems.

and 4 kits for 50 bucks is a steal. ;)

the weird thing is that when i bought this bike those clips weren't on the needles. The bike ran when i got it, but it took a good 20-30 kicks to start. When it did start, it wudn't run well at all. It wouldn't idle well at all. So yeah these are the first ive seen em.

I checked my manual for the ring it goes on, but I didn't see any mention of the clip. Does anybody remember the ring that they put this clip on?

I do live in colorado.. high elevation, so that might factor in...

thanks a bunch

i'd start with it in the middle clip, that way you can adjust up or down depending on how the bike is running.
