Great progress for ya mate sounds like ya powder coaters came good was it expensive ? I found doin a rep ties ya hands a lot with so many things not least colour so I think my next one gonna be my own ideas n style reckon it would be quicker n cheaper : slowely working my way up in engine size too been keeping all receipts etc for project haven't got the courage to add it up yet haha still trying to put a few more miles on my first project lets hope we get some decent weather up north haha 8)
The powder coat wasn't bad in price .and I no what your saying about cost .I write every thing down that I buy and do .added it up other day I was shocked how much it had cost . With so much still to do .
Finally got my head back valve guides done .& skimmed he said it needed quiet a bit taking off .also one off the valves was bent so need to find one frome some were .also got my top yoke back from being welded up after cutting bar mounts off
Glad to see ya got your head back looks good 8) top yoke is spot on wish ide done mine that well not sure bout ya disc holes are a definite plus I haven't done mine :-[ but sure it helps to stop the squeal ya get from full disc : think more holes could be in order yoz ther are acouple of threads on here that show some good drill patterns etc got to update my project this week got a few bits done your gonna be done n dusted before I even start putting her back together haha
That triple clamp should come up nice after polishing! Nice progress on the motor. Are you planning to paint the cases and jugs/head black again or go with an aluminum color?
I'm thinking black on the engine .I'm having yoke powder coated too .I did think about having it dipped & polished but thought I had enough to polish with tank and stuff.how's your bike coming on
I've been buying titanium race bolts just a few at a time got all engine bracket bolts calipers yokes rear break arm bolts chain guard not many more to buy thank God .couple of pics couldn't resist .few more bits back from being dipped & powder coated took some in Sun to see how they popped with flake in them .
But basically they have a big tank of water .which they put a film over which can be any pattern .spray it with adhesive.then dip the part into the film which then submerges into the water .pull it back out the film is then stuck to the part .then they apply a laquer. Job done
Wow what a good film pattern. It looks so real with the individual strands. The process is called hydro graphics or water transfer printing if you just put that into youtube you can see how it's done!
